I wonder if accusations are hurled at you by the darts of the enemy as they are at me.
You aren't smart. Why are you trying to homeschool your kids?
Your friends don't really want to spend time with you....you aren't so much fun to be around.
You don't really matter.
You have no real gifts or wisdom to share with others.
God doesn't want to use you.
I could go on and on....but that's not important. The issue is that the statements above, as well as other accusations that are thrown at us, are false. Not true. The enemy is the father of lies, and so of course when we hear those lies creep in, they sound like truth. (John 8:44)
And the purpose of them is to appeal to my own selfish need to be "somebody" in this world. Pride. And, to render me completely ineffective for the kingdom of the God who has captured my heart. See, if I entertain these thoughts and believe these things about myself, I am focused inward- not outward. And inward-focused individuals don't readily depend on someone else- especially the Lord- and can't see outside of themselves long enough to make a difference in the lives of others. Even if they do love Jesus and want to serve him.
The key here is knowing the God of the bible, and believing the truth of His word.
"Who am I in Christ?"
"Who is Christ in me?"
These are questions we will explore in the next few posts.
